Zingiber officinale Var. Amarum
HerbaVOMITZ
Herbavomitz is one of the Original Modern Indonesian Medicines (OMAI) used to relieve bloating and nausea. It contains a bioactive fraction called Avominol, derived from Zingiber officinale, also known as "Jahe Emprit" or Wild Ginger, which has traditionally been used for medicinal purposes, including the treatment of bloating and nausea. German and European monographs on ginger list nausea and vomiting as recognized indications for its use. Additionally, the U.S. Pharmacopeia has approved ginger and powdered ginger monographs for inclusion in the National Formulary.
HerbaVOMITZ contains a precisely formulated dose of 150 mg of Avominol in tablet forms.
A Brief Introduction to Our Product
Zingiber officinale, or ginger, has a long history as a remedy for digestive issues, effectively addressing problems such as mild indigestion, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, and travel sickness. In traditional Chinese medicine, it is classified as a warming remedy that is effective for abdominal distension and vomiting. Ginger is known to relax digestive muscles, aiding in the breakdown and removal of gas from the digestive tract, and is recognized for its ability to relieve nausea. Ginger consumption is safe and has no adverse effects when taken at the recommended dosage.
Several preclinical studies have demonstrated ginger's thermogenic properties, which are partly linked to vasoconstriction, partially caused by 6-gingerol. Additionally, these studies have shown that ginger can induce vomiting in animal models.
Product Functions
Our animal study on the safety of Avominol yielded significant findings. We found that administering Avominol at doses of 2000 and 5000 mg/kg BW did not lead to mortality or any specific toxic effects on the rats' organs. Therefore, a single administration of Avominol up to 56,000 mg (56 g) is considered safe, as it did not cause any changes in the pathology of vital organs.
We also conducted a teratogenic study to evaluate the safety of Avominol for pregnant women, as we are committed to ensuring the safe use of this product, particularly given that its indication for nausea and vomiting is commonly intended for pregnant women. The results highlighted the need for caution when considering Avominol for this population.
