HerbaPAIN

Phaleria macrocarpa

HerbaPAIN

HerbaPAIN is an herbal medicine that contains Predimenol, a standardized extract from the fruit of Phaleria macrocarpa, an Indonesian native plant commonly known as Mahkota Dewa. It effectively treats both mild and chronic pain and has a favorable safety profile.

HerbaPAIN contains a precisely formulated dose of 200 mg of Predimenol in film-coated tablet forms.

A Brief Introduction to Our Product

Predimenol is indicated for treating pain primarily due to its anti-inflammatory properties, which involve reducing COX-2 levels, key contributors to the inflammatory process. Additionally, its ability to inhibit nitric oxide (NO) further enhances its pain-relieving effects by reducing inflammatory responses. As a result, Predimenol serves as an effective option for managing pain by targeting underlying inflammatory mechanisms. Therefore, Predimenol is effective in decreasing inflammation and alleviating pain associated with inflammatory conditions.

Product Functions

Our study found that Predimenol treatment in cell lines led to a significant decrease in COX-2 transcription levels. The observed reduction in COX-2 levels suggests a potential reduction in inflammation and subsequent pain alleviation. Additionally, Predimenol exhibited a significant anti-inflammatory effect by inhibiting nitric oxide (NO) in a dose-dependent manner. NO, a crucial cellular signaling molecule, regulates specific immunity and inflammation, and its inhibition may help reduce inflammation events.

An in vivo study using the carrageenan-induced paw edema method in mice also supported the anti-inflammatory effect of Predimenol, where Predimenol treatment significantly reduced edema, indicating notable anti-inflammatory activity. Another in vivo study confirmed the analgesic effect of Predimenol. Using an acetic acid-induced pain model, Predimenol treatment resulted in a significant decrease in the number of writhing in mice, which indicates the ability of Predimenol to reduce pain.

A clinical study involving 23 women aged 20-42 demonstrated the efficacy of Predimenol in treating menstrual-related headaches and myalgia. Participants self-assessed their symptoms using a 100-mm visual analog scale (VAS) and recorded their findings in a diary. Analysis showed a reduction in VAS scores for both headache and myalgia following Predimenol treatment, compared to a control cycle, with significant relief noted, especially in those with moderate-to-severe symptoms. Additionally, back pain significantly decreased during the treatment cycle, with specific VAS score reductions recorded on days 1, 2, and 3 of menstruation. While mild adverse events, such as dyspepsia, were reported, the overall safety profile of Predimenol was found to be favorable, primarily attributed to its selective inhibition of COX-2.
