The establishment of DLBS is the realization of my dream for this nation to become a major player in the research and development of new drugs. Through research, we must be able to extract materials from Indonesian soil and transform them into medicine dedicated to humanity, not only at the national level but also throughout the world.

With Indonesia's biodiversity being the second largest in the world, Indonesia is very rich in indigenous medicinal plants and exotic organisms that can be utilized for human health benefits. DLBS was established in 2005 as a research institution of Dexa Medica, focusing on drug discovery and development of these potential plants and other organisms to obtain druggable materials, supported by strong scientific evidence.
We are proud to share DLBS’s achievements thus far, having successfully launched 25 products across 7 different therapeutic classes, and we will persist in our efforts.
